Ruthven Park National Historic Site is hiring enthusiastic and motivated individuals for several 8–10 week summer positions. If you’re passionate about history, museums, or working outdoors, this is a great opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a beautiful and historic setting.

Museum Educator

  • Duration: 8 weeks

  • Wage: $18.20/hour

  • Start Date: June 22, 2026

  • Job description:

    Reporting to the Site Administrator, the duties of the successful candidate will include the following:

    • Assist in the facilitation of educational programs, tours, and exhibits.

    • Plan and deliver programs and tours that introduce the public to the site’s unique history and environment

    • Assists with and participate in the planning, preparation and running of museum special events.

    • Provides support to Ruthven Park’s visitor services team through delivering tours, light museum administration work, assisting with admissions, and other tasks as assigned.

    The successful candidate will demonstrate the following

    • Comfortability presenting to groups

    • Strong planning, problem-solving, and communication skills

    • Able to work well both independently and in a team setting

    Funding for this position is through Canada Summer Jobs.

Museum Assistant

  • Duration: 10 weeks

  • Wage: $18.20/hour

  • Start Date: June 29, 2026

  • Eligibility: Must be returning to school in Fall 2026; preference for students in museum studies, history, or related fields

  • Job Description:

    Reporting to the Site Administrator, the duties of the successful candidate will include the following:

Landscape Labourer

  • Duration: 8 weeks

  • Wage: $18.20/hour

  • Start Date: June 22, 2026

  • Job description:

    Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, the duties of the Landscape Labourer role include the following:

    • Assist the Maintenance Coordinator with various tasks and duties regarding the gardens, trails, and grounds

    • Maintain gardens through weeding and watering

    • Support stewardship initiatives and projects including invasive species removal and environmental monitoring

    • Assist with grounds maintenance tasks including grass cutting, weed whacking, trimming etc.

    • Other maintenance duties as assigned
