Not much happening today. Very few neotropical migrants around but very few short-distance migrants either – as if we were between migrant groups.
One interesting sight was a Bald Eagle on a gravel bar between the mainland and Slink Island tearing a fish apart. I was able to get within about 20 m by sneaking up through the underbrush. Too bad I didn’t have a camera.
The total of 28 birds banded brings our Fall total over 500 for the season.
